Not all projects entail just glamorous furniture and scatter cushions, mixing ikats with sripes and pink with yellow. The majority large projects take time, with lots of very practical planning and building, which has to take in waterproofing, security and all sorts of boring things. However in these sorts of projects the designer has the ability to change more of the space and really get to grips on the details. I find this most rewarding kind of project and after 5 years of building still have an enormous amount to learn.
Here is a project I have been working on since December 2008. It is different for all others as it is a real collaberation with my clients, who are fellow designers.
Hopefully I will beable to post some of the joinery designs soon, as they are just starting to install the kitchen.
